“Choose to Endure” is a podcast that puts the spotlight on the incredible endurance and spirit of ultra runners, especially those who may not always be in the limelight (like me!)...sharing stories, interviews, race reviews, gear and training tips, news, advice, successes, failures, motivations, fears and generally the all-round view of what it's like to be at the tail end of the ultra runner universe. There's a lot of focus on the front of the pack (and rightly so - those folks are incredible), but there are so many uplifting everyday runners out there that make a conscious decision to try some ridiculously long and difficult races (anything from 31-200+ miles) for a variety of reasons and are out there getting it done - or not. People with regular lives, families, work, who have great tales of success and failure to share that are every bit as compelling.
It’s a podcast about finding commonality and reveling in the shared hardships of competing in this sport. About celebrating the wins and losses when you’re out there so long. About growth and challenging yourself. It’s about learning how to push beyond what you think you could do and about creating an opportunity to harness the collective power of the knowledge and experience that the slower end of the competition bring to the table and passing it forwards to others, in the hope that someone else might benefit; which I’m a big fan of. Ultimately, it’s a show about helping each other progress on our individual ultra journeys.
